I spurn to be identified with any surname. I have a name which is enough for my identity. I don’t wish to live with tags. 🙂
I reject this whole idea of surnames because i believe that surnames act as a tool for class division and stereotype thinking in our so-called equal society. He is a Gupta, so he is a penny-pincher. He is a Thakur, so he can break bones. He is a Punjabi, he believes in show off. He is an ansari, he eats beef. He/she is a singh or kaur, they’l act crazy at 1200hours. Like..seriously??
Isn’t this how most of the people think?
I welcome your suggestions, comments and advice about this general perspective of mine.

This system was created for division of work/labour in ancient times. But like other things , we, the Indians lose context and move/ follow like herd.

your perspective is right and thinking is good ..but dear surnames are in our blood by birth we dont choose to belong this community we belong it to simply because we were born into it..

In our blood? Isn’t our blood composed of RBCs WBCs plasma and platelets? I guess its rooted more into one’s thinking than blood.
